Long Island Woman Accused Of Driving Drunk In Crash That Killed Bicyclist

A woman who was allegedly driving drunk hit in a crash that killed a bicyclist on Long Island, police said.

The Suffolk Countycrash took place at 6 p.m., Wednesday, Oct. 30, on Flamingo Avenue in Montauk, said the East Hampton Town Police.

According to police, Lisa L. Rooney, 30, was driving a 2019 Chevy Silverado southbound on Flamingo Avenue when she hit, John James Usma-Quintero, 28, of Montauk, who was also traveling southbound.

Usma-Quintero was transported via Montauk Ambulance to Stony Brook Southampton Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Rooney was charged with DWI.

 Detectives are asking anyone who may have witnessed the crash, or has information, to call the East Hampton Town Police at 631-537-7575. All calls will be kept confidential.
